AKM welcomes

family, friends,

and musicians

Group of five young people standing and talking outside in a village street with traditional alpine-style houses with flower boxes. They are smiling and casually dressed.
Six young adults standing together in front of a gray curtain, smiling for the photo. They are dressed in semi-formal attire, with three women wearing dresses and three men in shirts.
Two smiling men sitting at an outdoor table, one with their arm around the other, on a patio with other tables and people in the background.

You don’t need an instrument to enjoy all that AKM has to offer! Through our auditor application, you can join your talented musician while still participating in extra activities and all meals.

We also welcome friends and families that stay in Liesing for just a portion of the time. We encourage all of our participants and guests to enjoy all that the Lesachtal Valley has to offer:

  • For family fun, there are many wonderful hiking trails and historical Austrian villages to visit. Enjoy a day of fun in nearby Lienz, and ride the Osttirodler, an Alpine coaster located on the Hochstein ski region, or take a day to relax at the world-class spa

  • Beautiful and romantic Venice is just a 3-hour drive away from Liesing!

You can visit our Activities page under program information to see all that is available in the area.

Applying to be an Auditor

All auditors must apply using the link at the top of each page.

€275 for two weeks, €140 for one week - Tuition

Auditor Tuition covers the following: entry into all concerts, rehearsals, lectures and masterclasses, official festival excursions, and our administrative costs.

The cost for an auditor to attend AlpenKammerMusik does NOT include food, hotel accommodations, and the cost of airfare to and from Austria.

€610 for two weeks, €305 for one week – Meal Plan (in addition to tuition)

The optional meal plan, which covers lunch and dinner, is available to auditors, friends, and family of AKM participants. If you'd like to take care of meal costs separately, you are more than welcome to do so, but the meal plan offers simplicity. The meal plan does NOT include drinks other than water, but other options will be available for purchase. The €580 meal plan fee is non-refundable after May 1, 2025. NB: there will be three meals NOT included in the meal plan, so that participants and auditors can explore the valley’s many restaurants.

Housing: €575-995 for two weeks, €288-498 for one week

The festival, in conjunction with our Operations Manager, will help reserve hotel rooms in Liesing, but the payment of those accommodations is to be handled individually at checkout by each participant at the end of the festival. All hotels offer breakfast as part of your accommodation.

NB: If you need to cancel your hotel stay, you must do so with at least two weeks notice. This policy is set by our hosts in Liesing. You will still be responsible for your hotel bill if cancel with less than two weeks’ notice.

Transportation

We strongly suggest that an auditor arrange for the use of a rental car while in Austria. Liesing is a remote town, and public transportation runs on a minimal schedule. Having a rental car allows one to reach many areas of the Lesachtal that public transportation would otherwise not allow.
