Frequently Asked Questions

Travel Information

The festival will arrange round-trip transportation to and from Liesing and Munich international airport (Franz Josef Strauss). The cost of this bus trip is still yet to be determined (last year's combined cost between Venice and Liesing was 130 euros, 65 euros per direction). The bus will depart Munich airport between 3pm and 4pm on Monday, August 9, and depart Liesing at the end of the festival early in the morning on Saturday, August 21. If you have any questions about the the bus transportation, feel free to contact the festival.

If you wish to reach Liesing on your own, airports to fly into are Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Trieste, Venice or Munich. Each of these airports are closer to Liesing than Vienna. Please be advised that should you wish to fly into one of the airports other than the one that the festival arranges for bus transportation, the AlpenKammerMusik cannot arrange transportation for you and instead recommends that you rent a car. In Italy and Austria, people drive on the right side of the road.

Comments Of Past Participants:

"It was the highlight of my year! I felt like I learned more the week at AKM about playing chamber music than I have in a long time."
- Felicia Weiss, Washington D.C.

"I can't say enough good things about the coaches that worked with my groups. My expectations were that they would help with ensemble and that I would really enjoy actually playing with them. These expectations were exceeded far beyond what I could have imagined."
- Norma Dermond, Seattle WA
