Daniel Swartz, director
Daniel Swartz received a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1995, and has studied violin with Zaven Melikian and Ronald Copes and viola with Heiichiro Ohyama.
As a professional, Daniel performed regularly with the Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, the Santa Barbara Grand Opera as well as with other ensembles in the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles areas. He also was an active teacher in and around the Santa Barbara area, teaching both privately as well as in the public school system.
As a soloist, Daniel has performed with the Young Artists Orchestra at Tanglewood alongside Peter Serkin, the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra and the UC Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, he has performed at Festival Hill at Round Top, Texas, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in Blue Hill, Maine, Tanglewood and the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival in Bonefro, Italy as well as performances throughout Europe, Australia and the United States. Daniel is a founding member of the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival.
