Valentin Scharff, cello

Valentin Scharff erhielt seine musikalische Ausbildung zunächst bei seinem Vater, dann im Vor –und Hauptstudium an der Musikhochschule in Freiburg bei Prof. Christoph Henkel. Er besuchte Meisterkurse bei Frans Helmerson, Siegfried Palm, Arto Noras und Janos Starker sowie dem Vermeer Quartett. Scharff spielte in verschiedenen Formationen auf zahlreichen Festivals, u.a. in Luzern, Les Arcs, La Prés, Beethoven-Fest Bonn, sowie Konzerte in ganz Europa, USA und Japan. Außerdem ist er Preisträger mehrerer Wettbewerbe (z.B. diverse 1. Bundespreise bei “Jugend musiziert”, 2. Preis beim "Int. Kammermusikwettbewerb 1991 Den Haag", 1. Mendelssohn-Preis Freiburg 1995) und Stipendiat versch. Stiftungen (u.a. "Villa musica", Brahms-Stipendium Baden-Baden). Seit 1999 ist er Cellist (assistant principal) im hr-sinfonieorchester (Frankfurt Radio Orchestra), Chefdirigent Paavo Järvi.
